MacPractice and Medstrat Deliver Integrated PACS-EMR-Practice Management Solution for Macs

Lincoln, NE, May 19, 2009 - MacPractice, Inc., the premiere Apple developer of practice management and clinical software for physicians, dentists and chiropractors, and Medstrat, a pioneer in orthopedic imaging for 13 years and the leading developer of FDA-approved orthopedic PACS and imaging solutions, announce a strategic alliance to market and deliver Medstrat PACS and medical imaging solutions integrated with MacPractice's EMR and practice management software to all physician specialties, and to chiropractors, dentists and optometrists who want to use digital imaging on a Mac.

Medstrat offers a full suite of tools for orthopedics including an in-product, feature-rich templating solution, which includes joint templates from all major manufacturers. The system supports remote connectivity from any Internet connection in addition to local connectivity within the practice. For cases where an Internet connection is not available, such as an operating room, a portability product allows physicians to take images acquired in the office, along with Medstrat's viewing and editing software, on a removable drive and view, edit, and annotate the images elsewhere. Upon their return to the practice, the portable solution can be synchronized with the office PACS to update the server with changes made off-site.

The Medstrat PACS system is a high performance, multi-site scalable solution. To maximize performance in multi-site installations, the Medstrat PACS system employs a highly effective method of displaying aggregated lists of studies from multiple locations all of which are available as if they were local. Medstrat provides remote, intelligent storage, and disaster recovery for clients. All images are automatically archived to Medstrat's backup servers, and the oldest are deleted from the client's system if the on-site server's capacity is exceeded. The archived images continue to be retrievable live from Medstrat's backup servers as if they were local to the practice.

"MacPractice is very excited to collaborate with Medstrat, the leading PACS developer in orthopedics with an excellent reputation for service and support, to market and provide Mac-native PACS solutions integrated with MacPractice EMR and practice management software to physicians of all specialties, dentists, chiropractors, and optometrists" stated Mark Hollis, MacPractice's President.
