MacPractice 3 Released

Lincoln, NE September 20, 2007 - MacPractice, Inc., developer of MacPractice MD, MacPractice DDS, MacPractice DC, and MacPractice 20/20, the leading Mac practice management and clinical software applications, announces the release of MacPractice 3.

MacPractice 3 is new server-based software, requires the recently released MySQL 5 Enterprise, provides a host of new features and is the foundation for many upcoming MacPractice software advancements including the release of MacPractice EMR and MacPractice DR (Digital Radiography) in October.

MacPractice?s interface has been enhanced throughout to maximize the use of screen real estate. It is possible to see a full day of appointments on a smaller screen without scrolling.

For users of MacPractice DDS, a Treatment Plan Ledger was created to support Phases and scheduling of Phases of Treatment. With drag and drop, it is easy to create temporary and permanent treatment plan options.

MacPractice 3 separates accounting from patient attachments making it possible to back up transactions to a .Mac account separately from photos, x-rays, scanned documents and files. With more doctors storing a greater volume of clinical information, MacPractice 3 offers superior data management and security options.

Although the MacPractice 3 can perform higher end database functions on the server computer that enhance performance and usability, the server need not be a high end Mac nor have Mac OS X Server, and it may be used as a terminal for data entry with minimal impact on other MacPractice users. MacPractice clients will receive MacPractice 3 and MySQL 5 as an update covered by their annual support and updates contract.

MacPractice 3 expands the options available for doctors to create web interfaces with MacPractice software. Interface changes have been implemented to make it more tablet-friendly, and there is more third party clinical and accounting interfaces.

1850 offices have chosen MacPractice to provide their practice management software and technical support. MacPractice supports 400 DentalMac, MediMac, and ChiroMac users.

Doctors may request to view QuickTime demonstration movies of MacPractice DDS, MD, DC, or 20/20 when registering at MacPractice.com.
