MacPractice Offers Automated Posting of Insurance Payments, Premium Portal for Physicians, Chiropractors, Optometrists

Lincoln, NE, July 16, 2007 - MacPractice, Inc., developer of MacPractice MD for physicians, MacPractice DDS for dentists, MacPractice DC for chiropractors, and MacPractice 20/20 for optometrists, the preeminent Mac OS X practice management software and clinical applications, announces the integration of ERA (Electronic Remittance Advice) and access to MedAvant's Premium Portal Services.

MacPractice MD, DC, and 20/20 EClaims Ability automatically downloads the insurance carrier's ERA from MedAvant, associates each payment to a corresponding claim and permits office personnel to simply approve the payment for auto-posting. The cost of ERA is as little as .19 per insurance claim. It eliminates a laborious task, saves offices hours of employee time per day and provides 100% accuracy.

To further enhance insurance processing, MacPractice users may subscribe to MedAvant's Premium Portal Services. The Portal provides them on line access to all of their claims. They can check claim status, edit a claim and resubmit, and they have access to extensive reports providing invaluable practice management statistics. Perhaps the most useful feature of the Portal is to provide proof of timely filing, an otherwise extremely difficult and time consuming task. Insurance carriers require that claims be submitted within a certain period of time after the date of service. Even if the insurance carrier is at fault, a claim will be denied if the doctor's office cannot provide proof of timely filing.

"For the first time a doctor's office can use a Macintosh to take advantage of services offered by a clearinghouse to perform critical business tasks with the cost-effective efficiency that can only be provided by electronic interaction with their insurance claims and payments," said Mark Hollis, President of MacPractice.

1,750 doctors' offices have chosen MacPractice to provide their practice management software and technical support. MacPractice, Inc. also supports the use of Mac OS 9 applications MediMac, ChiroMac, and DentalMac by several hundred offices.

Doctors are encouraged to view QuickTime demonstration movies of MacPractice MD, DC, 20/20, or DDS, after registering at MacPractice.com.
