MacPractice System Requirements
Minimum System Requirements
- MySQL Pro ($695 from mysql.com or $300 from MacPractice, server only)
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and/or 10.5 (Leopard)
- 1GB hard drive space available (server)
- 512MB RAM (server and terminal, more is highly recommended for Tiger/Leopard)
- Back-up CD-R, CD-RW (Note: Back-up can be performed without quitting MacPractice)
- 100BT Hub (NetGear preferred brand)
- Internet connection to server (as required)*
Strongly Recommended (supported configuration)

- G4, G5 or Intel processor (Classic, therefore MacHealth legacy software, is not supported on Intel)
- 5GB-10GB hard drive space available (server)
- 1GB RAM (server and terminal, highly recommended for Tiger/Leopard)
- Back-up CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, removable media (Zip, etc.), external hard drives
(Note: Back-up can be performed without quitting MacPractice)
- 17" or bigger monitor
- 100BT or 100BT/1000BT Auto Sense Hub or Switch (NetGear preferred)
- Networked HP LaserJet (AppleTalk) and some Xerox Laser printers (color, and black and white).
- Internet connection to server (continuous Broadband)*
- Fujitsu ScanSnap for Mac for use with Attachments
*An Internet connection (cable or DSL preferred) is required to:
- initially download MacPractice software
- activate your MacPractice software license
- reactivate MacPractice license each billing period
(this does not require quitting MacPractice)
- make changes to purchased software Abilities
- receive updates to MacPractice
- communicate via email, iChat, or remote control with MacPractice administration, tech support or training department
- video conference with iSight; and 8 access the MacPractice QuickTime help movies
